Hitch racks
Which hitch rack fits your e-bike?
Most e-bikes weigh 50–80 lb, more than many standard hitch racks allow per bike. Of 23 hitch racks checked, 7 are rated for 80 lb or more per bike (Kuat Piston ION 2-bike, 1UP USA Super Duty Double, Saris MHS 2 Bike Package) and carry 73 of the 76 e-bikes in our database. Removing the battery takes off about 6–12 lb.

How we decide whether a bike fits
- Weight: the bike's published weight with battery must be at or under the rack's per-bike limit. If it only fits once the battery is removed (which rack makers recommend for loading anyway), we say so; battery weight is estimated at 1 lb per 85 Wh.
- Tires and wheels: tire width and wheel size must be within the rack's stated range.
- Wheelbase: brands rarely publish e-bike wheelbases, so check long cargo bikes against the rack's maximum yourself.
The heaviest bike in our database is the ENGWE M20 3.0 at 102 lb. Longtail cargo bikes generally need a dedicated rack or a vehicle; check the rack's wheelbase limit.
